Karl-Anthony Towns entered the NBA in 2015 as the No. 1 overall pick of his draft. Since then, the big man has made $53,005,035 through his NBA contracts and that number is only going to grow moving forward, per Spotrac.

The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Towns with the first pick. They signed KAT to a two-year, $11.66 million rookie deal. Towns made $5,703,600 during his rookie season and averaged 18.3 points and 10.5 rebounds. He won the Rookie of the Year Award in grand fashion.

In his second season in the NBA, Karl-Anthony Towns put up 25.1 points and 12.3 boards. He earned $5,960,160 and was well on his way to signing a lucrative rookie-scale extension with the Timberwolves.

In the summer of 2017, Minnesota became playoff contenders after acquiring All-Star small forward Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls in a draft night trade. The Timberwolves now had a Big 3 of Butler, Towns and Andrew Wiggins. KAT made $6,216,840 during his third season and put up 21.3 points and 12.3 rebounds. He also made his first All-Star team.

In the offseason of 2018, reports began to surface that Butler didn't want to play with Towns and Wiggins anymore. Those rumors turned out to be true, as Jimmy requested a trade from the Timberwolves before the start of the 2018-19 season.

That worked out perfectly for Karl-Anthony Towns, who didn't like Jimmy Butler either. The star center signed a five-year, $158.25 million Designated Veteran extension with Minnesota before the start of training camp. The contract was set to kick in during the 2019-20 season.

After the Timberwolves traded Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers in November of 2018, Towns was a monster for Minnesota. He finished the 2018-19 season with averages of 24.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 blocks. KAT made $7,839,435 and was set to see his annual salary spike up.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended due to COVID-19, Karl-Anthony Towns was scheduled to make $27,285,000. The two-time All-Star was averaging 26.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists before games were suspended.

Towns is set to make $29,467,800 in 2020-21 and $31,650,600 in 2021-22. He'll have made $183,973,035 in NBA money after his Designated Veteran extension ends.
