Yet another twist has developed the San Antonio Spurs dealings with All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard, as he has informed the organization that he wants out. It has now opened up the door for various possibilities to emerge on the trade market over this upcoming offseason.

Although Leonard's perceived preference to land with the Los Angeles Lakers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that the Los Angeles Clippers would join the fray to put together a package to land the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

The Clippers possess some potentially intriguing assets that could put them in serious running to land Leonard this summer with a pair of first-round picks in this year's draft at the 12th and 13th overall spots. Los Angeles also has a few intriguing players such as Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari. Harris has continued to take steps forward in his development as a reliable scorer while he's set to enter the final year of his four-year, $64 million deal.

This has also made Harris' contract an expiring one that could free up $14.8 million in cap space next summer that could allow for the Spurs to add more talent. Meanwhile, Gallinari is coming off a difficult first campaign with the Clippers due to various injuries, but he has proven to be a dependable scoring option that could step in to help lead the charge in San Antonio in Leonard's absence.

Another possible scenario could be involving DeAndre Jordan, who has a player option for the 2018-19 season worth roughly $24.1 million. It would require Jordan to first agree to opt into that final year of his deal in order to make him an asset that they can move. This could be an intriguing option for him given that it would both allow him to return to his home state of Texas while play for a consistent playoff contender.

There are clearly plenty of possible appealing trade assets that the Clippers could put on the table to the Spurs, which could see them be in serious contention to land Leonard in the coming weeks.
