A report from this morning suggested that the Phoenix Suns may be interested in offering the No. 1 overall pick of the NBA Draft to the San Antonio Spurs for Kawhi Leonard.

That apparently is not true.

Leonard shook up the NBA world yesterday when the report broke that he wanted a trade out of San Antonio. Immediately after reports came flooding in with the teams most likely to pursue the estranged Spurs All-Star and former Defense Player of the Year.

Eventually, the Suns were mentioned and their No. 1 pick is their most valuable asset, along with maybe Devin Booker. The Suns have been long rumored to be interested in drafting DeAndre Ayton with that pick and apparently they may still be leaning toward that.

Leonard when healthy is one of the best players in the league, in the top five according to most, but that may not be enough to sway the Suns to give up the top pick. Whoever gets Leonard will have to consider the max contract they'll have to offer him once he gets there and maybe Phoenix doesn't see that as a possibility.

It will be interesting to see where Kawhi ends up now with all eyes on his situation, along with LeBron James' situation.
