Kemba Walker has his eyes set on this coming All-Star Weekend's Three-Point Shooting Contest.

The Charlotte Hornets point guard has come out of the gate blazing through the first 20 games of the season, scoring a career-high 23.8 points per game and doing so much more efficiently than prior seasons.

“I would love to be in the three-point contest,” he told Marc Stein on his TrueHoop podcast.

“Honestly, never in a million years would I have thought that I would even think about being in the three-point contest. But it'd be cool. I think I would be super nervous, definitely shoot a few air balls, but that would be cool, though.”

The 6-foot-1 Bronx native is in a tight race with Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry for most three-pointers made in the Eastern Conference (58).

Walker is shooting a career-high 46.8 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from three, a huge improvement from last year's 37.1 percent career mark. If he keeps shooting the ball this well through February, there's a good chance he'll make the field of eight.

Stein went a step further, asking him if he'd be interested in any other competitions during All-Star Weekend.

What about the dunk contest?

“Negative,” he replied, laughing. “No chance.”
