While front office executives are usually the ones recruiting free agents to join their teams, players have also been active in the past years in luring them to join their fold. This year will not be an exception, as some of them have been very vocal on social media, as well as interviews, about doing their part to make sure their teams get better.

One of them is Kent Bazemore, who made it known recently that he will be utilizing his Twitter account to help bring more players to the Atlanta Hawks. He was even specific in saying that he will be sliding in his DM’s to send messages to some players he feels are currently in disarray and may fit well on their team.

The Hawks surprised many on Tuesday when they traded Dwight Howard to the Charlotte Hornets, and with Paul Millsap slated to become a free agent, the team might need all the help it can get in order to fill in the void left by the two, should Millsap ultimately decide to sign somewhere else.

Their obvious need right now is a big man capable of playing for long stretches, as the frontcourt minutes should be up for grabs as of the moment. If they won’t be able to add key pieces this summer, it will be up to Mike Muscala, Kris Humphries and newly acquired Miles Plumlee to compete for the lion’s share of the playing time.
