Detroit Pistons shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has been sentenced to a year's probation after a March traffic stop in Auburn Hills, Mich.

The sharpshooter learned of his sentence on Wednesday in a Rochester Hills courtroom after pleading guilty to driving under the influence. A different charge of operating while intoxicated was dismissed, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Caldwell-Pope was arrested under the suspicion of drunk-driving after police said he was spotted going about 45 mph in a 25 mph zone about 2:50 a.m. on March 29. He was consequently arrested after failing a field sobriety test.

Further tests showed the Pistons guard had a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent.

Caldwell-Pope played the following game after issuing a public apology the day of his arrest.
