Ah, March. When madness ensues and grown men cry. It's also the time when NBA stars tune in to the NCAA Tournament to witness all the nail-biting action and cheer for their alma maters. On Thursday night, the biggest game was between no. 2 Kentucky and no. 15 St. Peter's.

When the smoke cleared, St. Peter's scored the massive upset victory, beating Kentucky in overtime, 85-79. It was the fourth-largest shocker in the NCAA Tournament since 1985, as the Peacocks were 18.5-point underdogs against the Wildcats, according to ESPN Statistics & Information.

Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell watched the game. But instead of saluting St. Peter's, he had to troll former Kentucky coach Kenny Payne first. Payne just got hired as coach of Louisville, where Mitchell suited up in college, and the Jazz guard couldn't help but point out the sort-of irony.

Kentucky and Louisville have one of the most intense rivalries in college basketball, largely because of the close proximity of the two institutions.

Mitchell has always been proud of his time at Louisville, but of course, he had to rib the squad's new coach a little bit.

Payne was with Kentucky for 10 years before getting hired as an assistant coach of the New York Knicks in 2020.
