With the 2022 NBA Draft just a couple of months away, lots of NCAA players are making their decision to either return to college for another season or declare for the draft. Add Kentucky star TyTy Washington to the list.

Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Washington is taking his talents to the Association after just one season with the Wildcats:

The Kentucky freshman plans to hire an agent. He's a projected lottery pick. Washington averaged 12.5 points, 3.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 2021-22, but an ankle injury in January against Auburn limited his impact on John Calipari's squad.

Washington actually spoke to ESPN's draft analyst Jonathan Givony on Wednesday about where he's at leading up to June, making it clear he's still not at 100%:

“I wasn't anywhere close to full strength in the past two months of the season for Kentucky,” Washington told Givony on Wednesday. “My ankle had moments where it felt really good and then others it was really hurting. After the Auburn game, that's when things went downhill. It was a nagging injury that I never really got right. I'm still not 100 percent now, but I'm getting close.

“The warrior mentality instilled in me by my mom and dad had me playing in games that I probably shouldn't have. I think NBA teams were able to see how tough I am.”

The 6'4 guard is a gifted passer and was named the Arizona state player of the year before heading to Kentucky. It will be interesting to see how TyTy Washington does at the next level.
