Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari is set to visit with 2021 5-star forward AJ Griffin on Thursday, according to Pat Lawless of Prep Circuit.

The 6-7 small forward, who attends Archbishop Stepinac in New York, continues to attract a lot of attention as one of the top players in the class.

Duke, Villanova, Illinois, Michigan, UCLA, and Vanderbilt are among the teams that have offered him, with the expectation being that Calipari and company will eventually offer him.

Griffin is rated as the top player in New York and No. 8 player overall in the 2021 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.

Calipari has already secured three commitments in the 2020 recruiting class, with 5-stars Terrence Clarke and BJ Boston, and 4-star Lance Ware committing to the program.

The Wildcats will tip off the new college basketball season on Nov. 5 in a Champions Classic matchup against Michigan State.
