During last summer's free agency, Kevin Durant was the most-coveted player among all free agents and generated interest from a lot of teams. Although he ultimately decided to bring his talents to Oakland and join the Golden State Warriors, one team he considered signing with were the L.A. Clippers.

The former MVP and four-time scoring champion recently talked about how difficult it was for him to turn down the Clippers and also named some of their players whom with he has strong relationships.

Blake [Griffin], D.J [DeAndre Jordan]., and C.P. [Chris Paul] — that’s what made it interesting. Those three guys are tremendous, unbelievable talents. They made it tough on me. They made it tough. Just knowing those guys. Like I said, D.J. is a close friend. C.P., I’ve known him since I was in high school. I got to know Blake over the years.

“All that other stuff — I’ve been in L.A. every summer,” continued Durant. “Facilities, all that stuff is the same to me. As long as you have a court and the ball. And Jamal Crawford has been a close friend of mine since I’ve been in the league, so the players, that’s what made it tough. They did a great job.”

As it turned out, both parties did not join forces but have the same mission, and that is to win the Western Conference and win a championship this year.

The Warriors visited the Clippers on Wednesday night in their first meeting of the season, with Golden State routing Los Angeles, 115-98.
