Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant also found it quite amusing that his teammate Kyrie Irving burned some sage before facing his former team Boston Celtics on Friday. KD had no qualms about Uncle Drew's quirkiness and even blurted out a hilarious retort about the whole ordeal.

Kyrie Irving, of course, is a player that often thinks outside the box (or the planet), so it comes as no surprise that he is a pretty superstitious guy. The 6-time All-Star was likely just trying to free TD Garden from some bad juju, following his first match against the team he left in free agency a year ago.  Irving's return to Beantown as a visitor was one of the highly-anticipated matches last season. But that spectacle did not materialize after he failed to suit up due to an injury.

The one-time NBA champ's first season in Brooklyn at least on paper, was a success during the times he'd played. Irving came out hot and notched 27.4 points on 47.8 percent shooting from the field and 39.4 from three, along with 5.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.4 steals. But the injury bug bit him pretty hard and he was limited to just 20 appearances.

The Nets dominated the Celtics in Irving's return to Boston on Friday with a  resounding 113-89 victory to move 2-0 in the preseason. Irving put up all-around numbers of 17 points, seven rebounds, and five dimes in 28 minutes, while Durant put up a game-best 25 points in 27 minutes.

KD will finally get a chance to play a full season alongside Irving after missing the entire 2019-20 campaign. Judging by how he handled that whole sage thing, looks like he is already getting used to Irving's eccentricities both on and off the court.
