The Golden State Warriors were flying high amidst their 11-game winning streak. Unfortunately, it all came crashing down in Saturday night’s matchup versus the Denver Nuggets.

Everything seemed to be going against the Warriors in their blowout 96-81 loss to the Nuggets. Even superstar forward Kevin Durant had a simple explanation for their embarrassing defeat, according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes:

For those that are unaware, Durant’s melody was in reference to the 1995 R&B hit “Don’t Take It Personal” by Monica. Needless to say, the song perfectly exemplifies the struggles that Golden State had just previously endured.

Nothing went right for the Warriors as it was an uncharacteristic game by nearly every measure. Not only did they commit 17 turnovers on the night, but they just could not seem to get the lid off the basket. At one point, Golden State had even missed 20 consecutive three-pointers before ultimately finishing just 3-of-27 from downtown.

Meanwhile, it certainly was “one of those days” for Durant after recording just 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting while missing all five of his three-point attempts. That said, it was a night to forget for not just Durant, but the Warriors as a whole. However, their struggles go to show that even the best teams in the league can occasionally have an off-night.
