While many were surprised to see the San Antonio Spurs win Game 6 of their second round series against the Houston Rockets, there are still some who weren't, and said they expected it.

One of them is Golden State Warriors star forward Kevin Durant, who gave them credit for continuing to run their system regardless of who is on the court. Despite playing without Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker, the Spurs blew out the Rockets inside Toyota Center by 39 points, which Durant described as being a “machine,” via Tom Orsborn of MySanAntonio.com.

“I wasn’t surprised, because they’re a machine. They just keep doing it, no matter who’s out on the court, running that system. Somebody goes down, somebody steps in. It’s not like they gave the ball to Jonathan Simmons and said, ‘Go score for us.’ They ran a perfect offense against that defense and Coach Pop put them in great position to use their strengths. That’s just the Spurs, man. That’s why I have the utmost respect for them.”

Although Durant and his team are the favorites to move on to the NBA Finals, he understands that the Spurs are very tough to beat and will require them to be at their best to eliminate them.

With Leonard back in their fold for Game 1 on Sunday, the Spurs will be almost at full strength, which even boosts their chances of pulling off the upset against the Warriors. It will be a very interesting to watch both teams go head-to-head, and whoever wins the series will definitely deserve to represent the Western Conference. However, Durant is hoping it will be them, and that they can find a way to easily win against the “machine” that he knows will give them all that they've got.
