Kevin Durant hasn't run the bases for the Warriors yet, but if his regular season production is as good as the first pitch he delivered, teams are in for more than just a shutout inning.

The new Golden State signing threw the first pitch for the San Francisco Giants on Friday, when they hosted the second of four games against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 6-foot-9 forward delivered an impressive strike to the heart of the plate for a ceremonial first pitch to the delight of Bay Area fans.

Prior to the first pitch, Durant received some bits of advice from Giants' legend Willie Mays, who taught him how to hold a baseball by the seams for a smooth delivery.

Durant immediately put the teachings to practice, as evidenced by the Warriors Snapchat account.

If Durant can follow the teachings of head coach Steve Kerr just as well as he did with Mays, it could be a seamless transition to his new team for the 2014 NBA MVP.
