After the dust has settled, the Golden State Warriors came out with an easy win against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night in the first matchup between former teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

With the Thunder leading by one point after the first 12 minutes of action, the Warriors outscored them 37-11 in the second quarter and held on to the lead for good. They blew out OKC by 26 points in the end, 122-96.

Durant led the charge for the home team posting huge numbers of 39 points, on 15-of-24 shooting, including 7-of-11 from three-point distance, while adding seven rebounds. It only took the 2014 MVP 31 minutes of playing time to complete his stat line. His incredible performance tied Stephon Marbury‘s record for the most points scored against their former team in their first meeting,

Victor Oladipo and Westbrook led OKC with 21 and 20 points, respectively.

The Warriors won their fourth straight game and gave the Thunder their first loss of the season. Both teams now have an identical 4-1 record. The Dubs' next game will be on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers while OKC will look to get back on the winning track when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

Thursday night's game is only the first of four times the teams are slated to face each other this season with the next one on Jan. 18 when the Warriors once again host the Thunder. Then KD returns to OKC for the first time on Feb. 11. It will be another highly-anticipated game as it will be the first time Durant will visit the city he played for the past eight years.
