Three games into this year's NBA Finals, Kevin Durant‘s name reigns atop a mountain of storied players, logging the best average game score in The Finals since 1984, per Basketball-Reference.

Durant logged a game-score high of 30.8, a whisker above some of the legends of the sport — Shaquille O'Neal from 1999-2002, who owns the best two marks after Durant; Michael Jordan; Magic Johnson; LeBron James (2015-16), and his sidekick Stephen Curry in 10th place after having an impressive postseason of his own.

Durant is averaging 34 points, 10.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting an incandescent 56.1 percent from the floor, 52.4 percent from three, and 89.5 percent from the stripe during through three games against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He has now recorded double-digit field goals made in his last five postseason games, including 8-of-13 in this year's undefeated playoff run.

If he can keep up the same pace as his previous performances for the rest this series, Durant can etch his name as the overall greatest NBA Finals performer of all-time.
