Nike wasted no time releasing KD 9s in blue and gold just days after Kevin Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors.
Releasing KD 9s in Warriors colors while the hype of Durant's arrival to the Bay Area is still at dizzy heights will open up a whole new, big, motivated market for Nike.
The Warriors have one the fast growing fan bases in the NBA. Only a few years ago it had 8,000 spare season tickets, which has now turned into a 13,000+ waiting list. San Francisco is a cashed up city due to the tech boom in the area, and they love their basketball and Warriors.

Come the opening of the 2016-17 season, Golden State fans will undoubtedly be decked out in their new number 35 jersey and blue and gold kicks, which will make Nike a tidy little profit in the process.
