Although the Dallas Cowboys made some big changes to the roster, the franchise is set up nicely for a strong performance in the upcoming 2022 NFL season. They have a real chance to secure the NFC East crown for the second year in a row, but they'll need everyone playing their best to do so. With that in mind, we look at the key position group to make the biggest impact for the Cowboys this year.

Trading away Amari Cooper was a risky move, but it could pay off greatly. The front office was able to allocate the salary cap towards areas of concern, ultimately making the roster stronger. For that reason, all eyes are on the Cowboys to repeat, as they are primed for a great season.

It'll be interesting to see how the year pans out for Dallas. Although the offense lost Cooper via trade, they're still set up to have a consistent passing attack. CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup make a great duo, while James Washington and Jalen Tolbert have legitimate potential to elevate the offense. We should expect the Cowboys' wide receivers to make some noise this year.

With that said, here is our key position group to make the biggest impact for the Cowboys in the 2022 NFL season.

Cowboys Key Position Group For 2022 NFL Season

Wide Receivers

The Cowboys' wide receivers are in a position to be one of the best in the league. CeeDee Lamb is now the top pass option and many believe he has the potential to put up numbers similar to Justin Jefferson. If that's the case, then Dallas' passing attack will not falter whatsoever. Look for Lamb to play an integral role this season, as the offense needs him to play well if they hope to make a playoff appearance.

Additionally, Michael Gallup has been a solid pass option in his own right. He's looked good as the third option throughout most of his career but is now in place to be Dak Prescott's number two target. With Amari Cooper out of the picture, we should see Gallup hit his full potential, giving the Cowboys a dangerous wide receiver duo.

On top of that, Dallas has some nice depth in the position as well. James Washington joins the team who many believe has a chance to shine as the third option. Meanwhile, Jalen Tolbert is an exciting rookie who could make some noise for the Cowboys as well. If all four of these wide receivers get going, there's no telling how big of a year Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense will have.

It should be a big year for this franchise. Although their season was cut short in the playoffs, the front office has done a great job in creating a more well-balanced roster. As long as the wide receivers come through, Dak Prescott should have no problem managing this offense. Couple that with the strong rushing attack and the Cowboys are looking legit.

Keep an eye on this organization, as Dallas has had it rough for quite some time. Even so, Cowboys fans are hopeful this team can make a Super Bowl run.
