With what he has shown last season, promising Sacramento Kings shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic is one of those players expected to have a breakout year in 2018-19. Averaging 11.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while nearly shooting 40 percent from the 3-point line on a sample size of 28 minutes per game, given the minutes and the right situations he can develop into a decent weapon for the Kings.

Unfortunately, that thought might have to be put on hold for now. According to a tweet from Jason Jones of The Athletic, the Serbian will have minor surgery on his left knee.

During a FIBA World Cup qualifier, he injured and re-aggravated a previous injury on his knee playing for his country, Serbia. Although the surgery is not totally serious, it will definitely affect his development and quite possibly his status in the opener.

The swingman was initially expected to start for the Kings. With him possibly out recovering from surgery, the Kings may look to slot sophomore Justin Jackson, sharpshooting big man Nemanja Bjelica, or lottery pick Marvin Bagley III to cover for the loss.

On another note, the Kings are expected to be better than last season with their recent acquisitions. Although they are far from competing for a playoff spot in the deep and mighty Western Conference, we might already get flashes of brilliance from their development.

If the Kings stay on track by patiently developing their talent, it will not be long until we finally include them in the playoff discussion.
