Having entered the hiatus with a 28-36 record and three and a half games outside the playoffs picture in the Western Conference, the Sacramento Kings were one of the lowest-ranked teams that were invited to participate in the Disney World bubble. Nonetheless, Kings shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic strongly believes that Sacramento should not be counted out by any means.

According to Bogdanovic, the Kings intend to showcase their mental fortitude as they take a crack at the final playoff spot in a ruthless Western Conference with several formidable teams gunning for the same:

“This is pretty much a mental game and we all have to be locked in from the beginning,” Bogdanovic said, via Jason Jones of The Athletic. “From every single practice, the short period of time is like a tournament system so everyone can win. You can expect everyone to win so that’s what it’s all about.”

Bogdan Bogdanovic is not wrong here. The Kings, similar to all the other participating teams in the bubble, will be playing eight regular-season games, which mathematically, is more than enough for them to steal the eighth seed in the West. What the 27-year-old is saying here is that his team are grateful for the opportunity they have been handed an opportunity and that they intend to do everything in their power to make a late push for a postseason spot and not waste their chance.

Bogdanovic has had an impressive third season with the Kings, currently averaging 14.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steals, while also connecting on a career-best 2.6 triples on a 36.1-percent clip.
