Buddy Hield has now surpassed Peja Stojakovic as the Sacramento King's leader for 3-point field goals made in a single season.

Stojakovic previously held the mark with 240 3-pointers, which he set during the 2003-04 campaign. Hield entered the game against the Phoenix Suns with 238, just two shy of the record.

The 26-year-old guard made only one triple in the first quarter, but he was able to surpass the mark midway through the second with back-to-back triples. Hield finished the night with seven 3-pointers out of 14 attempts, bringing his single-season tally to 245 3-pointers.

Hiled was noticeably ecstatic about the milestone he reached with the Kings and admitted it was a blast to surpass Peja, who is currently serving as the team's assistant general manager.

The next target for Buddy Hield, perhaps, is to break Peja Stojakovic's Kings record for most 3-point field goals made. Peja has 1,070 3-pointers over his eight seasons with the Sacramento franchise.

After his heroics against the Suns, Hield now has 480 triples as a King. For what it's worth, he has been with the franchise for only two and half seasons — joining the team midway through the 2016-17 season as part of the New Orleans Pelicans' trade for DeMarcus Cousins.

On the season, Hield is averaging 20.8 points per game. He ranks fourth in the NBA on 3-point field goals, only behind James Harden, Stephen Curry and Paul George. The Kings star is also sixth in 3-point percentage.
