There are whispers going around the NBA that Sacramento Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield wants to be traded by the franchise.

If the Kings are looking to part ways with Hield, they would probably want “a good young player or players and draft picks,” per Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee.

However, it appears that Hield's trade value around the NBA is mixed depending on who you talk to, per Anderson.

In conversations with sources around the league, it’s clear the market for Buddy Hield is mixed at best. One top team official deemed the Bahamian sharpshooter untradeable with his four-year, $86 million contract, which includes likely incentives that would push it to $94 million. However, not everyone shares that view.

A front-office executive from another organization said the Kings clearly value Hield, who made more 3-pointers than any player in NBA history over his first four seasons, and there are likely other teams that value him, too. When asked about Hield’s potential trade value, the source said the Kings would probably be looking for “a good young player or players and draft picks.” Others have offered much poorer appraisals.

Hield appeared in 72 games for the Kings during the 2019-20 season. He averaged 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from beyond the arc and 84.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Kings have the longest playoff drought in the NBA, as the franchise hasn't seen postseason basketball since 2006. With that being said, it wouldn't surprise anyone if Hield is looking to get traded by the Kings so he can play for a winning team.

Sacramento currently has two options on small forward Bogdan Bogdanovic: the Kings can either let him walk or match the Atlanta Hawks' four-year, $72 million offer sheet.
