Sacramento Kings big man Marvin Bagley III was finally able to make his return this week after missing time with a sprained knee. Head coach Dave Joerger admits it has been tough restricting his minutes as of late.

Bagley appeared in his second game following a two-week hiatus due to injury. According to James Ham of NBC Sports, Joerger is going to do his best to make sure he continues to limit his minutes moving forward:

“Marvin Bagley hadn't played in two weeks. It broke my heart to take him out of the game tonight. But I'm going to side with our strength and conditioning crew and our athletic trainers. He's on a minutes restriction. That's part of the NBA game.”

Joerger's comments are certainly understandable. The Kings have made quite the investment in Bagley after taking him with the second overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. The rookie has done a solid job of justifying their pick with his promising play this year. Sacramento will take every precaution they can to ensure his health moving forward.

Bagley has been his normal solid self since making his return. He scored in double digits in each of the last two games. However, he was much more active against Philadelphia after finishing with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting to go with four rebounds and a steal in just 20 minutes. This could be why it was so difficult for Joerger to take him out despite it being a close game. At this point, it is safe to say that Bagley's health is their top priority moving forward.
