Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox hasn't exactly been winning over votes on the first two ballot returns for the 2021 All-Star Game scheduled in State Farm Arena next month. Perhaps his earlier anti-All-Star game sentiments have something to do with that.

Despite the controversy, Kings head coach Luke Walton says he will be strongly campaigning to his fellow coaches about possibly voting for the 23-year-old speedster for his first All-Star nod.

“Listen, De’Aaron is having a heck of a year and yes, I’ll be campaigning for him,” Walton said on Thursday, via James Ham of Yahoo Sports.  “I’ll be campaigning for De’Aaron and if he doesn’t get selected, he gets some extra rest and gets to stay home.”

He’s having a heck of a season right now and it’s good that he’s in those talks”.

De'Aaron Fox isn't even in the top 10 among Western Conference guards in the latest fan voting polls. It's a travesty that injured stars like Klay Thompson and CJ McCollum and even reserve Lakers guard Alex Caruso has more votes than the talented Kings guard.

Fox's numbers certainly don't lie, as he is averaging a career-best 23.4 points per game this season on a 47.7 percent shooting clip from the field and 35.7 from long distance, along with 3.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.2 steals in 24 games played so far. The Kentucky alum has been on a hot streak as of late, scoring 30 or more points in four of Sacramento's last six outings.

He has been the Kings' most consistent player this season and one of the few bright spots in their underwhelming start. The Kings are currently out of the playoff picture in the West with a 12-12 slate (10th place) which further hurts Fox's All-Star stock.
