You either retire a legend or hang in the NBA long enough that a documentary about your life is going to show in theaters while you're still playing.

That is, of course, in reference to Vince Carter, who was the inspiration behind the new Uninterrupted documentary titled “The Carter Effect” by director Sean Mennard and executive produced by LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Drake and Adel Future Nur. The picture's narrative revolves around Carter and his prime years spent playing in Toronto along with his impact in terms of helping popularize the sport not only in the city, but in Canada as well. The film, which is Uninterrupted's second documentary, is slated to be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival from September 7 to 17.

Carter, who turned 40 last January, signed a one-year, $8 million deal with the Sacramento Kings this summer after three seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies. Carter's best years unquestionably were during his seven seasons in Toronto, in which he averaged 23.4 points per game.
