The Sacramento Kings squared off against the L.A. Clippers Thursday night at Staples Center as the NBA preseason winds down.
It’s the first night of a back to back for the Kings in Los Angeles before ending their preseason schedule against the Golden State Warriors on Friday, but it hasn’t come without its own share of bad news.
Point guard George Hill exited the game with a right groin injury early in the first half.
#Kings' George Hill is hurt. He had his hands on both knees grimacing, but seems to be walking it off on his way to the bench. #Clippers

According to reports, George Hill lost his footing on the court and tweaked his groin in the process before trying to walk it off to no avail. The Kings point guard was taken out of the game and escorted to the locker room to receive treatment but no official report has been given yet. Hill’s return was ruled out and he will likely be held out of the team’s final exhibition game Friday.

Whether or not George Hill can resume basketball activities shortly, or if he will have to miss extended time to recover will be revealed at a later time. He is just one player who has suffered an injury in a rash string of players getting hurt just weeks leading up to opening night.
The Kings’ rookie guard De’Aaron Fox is likely to assume the starting point guard role until Hill returns.
