Sacramento Kings big man Harry Giles is done for the season. According to a report from Jason Jones of The Athletic, Giles has been shut down for the remainder of the 2018-19 season due to a lingering thigh injury.

Giles originally suffered what is being referred to as a “left thigh bruise” back on March 21st against the Dallas Mavericks. Though technically only bruise, Giles has continued to experience some stiffness in his left leg while such a syptom is common.

As a result of being shut down by the team, the young big man will now shift his focus to his offseason program.

Unfortunately for both Giles and the Kings, Sacramento's season will come to an end when the 2018-19 regular season concludes.

Although once again missing out on the postseason, the Kings remain primed to finish in ninth place in the Western Conference, which obviously shows signs of some major progress from years past.

With a talented young core now intact, the Kings appear to be ready to potentially make the next step come 2019-20.

As it stands today, the ninth-place Kings currently own a nearly even 38-39 record in 2018-19. With only a few regular season games remaining on the slate, the Kings have a very real chance of finishing above the .500 mark. Even so, Sacramento sits six full games behind the eighth-place Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference standings.

However, the Kings will notably finish ahead of both the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans in the standings.
