Sacramento Kings guard Iman Shumpert will miss his team's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night due to personal reasons, according to Jason Jones of The Athletic.

Shumpert also missed the Kings' win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday with a hip injury.

Sacramento acquired Shumpert from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team trade last season. However, Shumpert did not play at all for the Kings last year.

He decided to opt in to the final year of his deal for this season and made his debut for Sacramento back in October.

In 24 games and 22 starts this season, Shumpert is averaging 9.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals over 25.8 minutes per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the floor, 37.9 percent from three-point range and 87.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at Georgia Tech, was originally selected by the New York Knicks in the first round (17th pick overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft.

He went on to enjoy a solid rookie campaign, registering 9.5 points, 3.2 boards and 1.7 steals across 28.9 minutes a night, making 40.1 percent of his field-goal attempts, 30.6 percent of his long-distance tries and 79.8 percent of his foul shots.

Shumpert spent the first three-and-a-half years of his career with the Knicks before being traded to the Cavaliers midway through the 2014-15 campaign.

He resided in Cleveland for parts of four seasons, winning a championship in 2016.

Shumpert owns career averages of 7.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

The surprising Kings currently own a record of 16-13 and sit in seventh place in the Western Conference.
