Sacramento Kings guard Iman Shumpert clearly was upset with himself after his struggles during the team's game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.

The Kings were unable to hold off the Lakers down the stretch, with Los Angeles earning a 121-114 victory to avenge its loss in Sacramento earlier in the week.

Of course, without LeBron James on the court for the Lakers, it seemed like an opportunity for the Kings to pick up another quality victory after building some confidence in the previous meeting between the two teams.

But Shumpert was unable to find a rhythm, as he scored just eight points after going 3 of 12 from the floor and 1 of 7 from 3-point range.

After the game, he took to Twitter to express his frustrations:

That's on me. I begged the universe for chance after chance and got every opportunity to win that game, just couldn't throw it in the ocean. Happy New Year to the Lake Show. smfh. My bad Scores.

Shumpert had four straight double-digit scoring performances prior to this game, so maybe he'll be able to use the confidence from that to get back on track in a hurry.

Obviously, the Kings just didn't play their best basketball late in the game, but it should be a learning experience for this team moving forward.

Sacramento now sits at 19-17 over the season and will hope to get back to its winning ways with a four-game homestand on the way.

The Kings will return to the court on Tuesday to take on the Portland Trail Blazers.
