Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton is hoping big man Marvin Bagley III will be back this week or next.

Bagley is currently out with a foot injury:

Bagley has only played in nine games this season for the Kings. He suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right thumb on opening night against the Phoenix Suns and missed a bunch of games.

Bagley is putting up 13.7 points and 6.9 rebounds on the season. He's shooting 45.9 percent from the field, 21.4 percent from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Kings are 15-23 on the season. They are in the 11th spot in the Western Conference standings and have won two games in a row.

Sacramento has not made the playoffs since 2006. This was supposed to be the season where they snapped their long playoff drought. There’s still plenty of games left in the season for the Kings to turn things around, but the team has to get healthy first.

The second overall pick in the 2018 draft, Bagley averaged 14.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game during his rookie season for the Kings while shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from the 3-point line and 69.1 percent from the charity stripe.

With the way Luka Doncic has played with the Dallas Mavericks, there’s some pressure on Marvin Bagley III to play at a high-level since the Kings passed on Luka to select him.
