Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton didn't hold back in criticizing his team's terrible third quarter performance against the Phoenix Suns.

What was supposed to be a close second half turned into a disgrace as the Kings were limited by the Suns to just 12 points in the entire third quarter.

Evaluating the Kings' “disgusting” display, coach Luke Walton admitted that the Suns did nothing extra in the opening quarter of the second half. Instead, he acknowledged that the problem was all on his team's end.

“They didn’t make any adjustments,” Walton said postgame via NBC Sports. “They guarded us that way in the first half tonight, we made a lot of shots that covered up for some of it. We gave into it. It was like a soft mentality that we started the third quarter with on both ends. That’s unacceptable for where we’re trying to get to.”

“We’re getting to hit the road again,” he added. “We have to learn to fight through all that fatigue and we didn’t do a great job of that tonight. 38 points off of turnovers. Some of the stuff offensively was fine, but that third quarter was disgusting, and we have to take care of the ball.”

Looking at the stats of Kings' star guard De'Aaron Fox, it seems like it was just another day at the office as he finished the game with a team-high 24 points. However, Fox too was well aware that the team will have to assess what went wrong in that “third quarter.”

“We didn’t win it today, but just about all our games besides Dallas have been a close game,” Fox explained. “I thought that was good how we fought back in the fourth quarter, but the third quarter we have to figure that out.”
