Marvin Bagley III is heading for another lengthy spell on the sidelines. It has been confirmed that the 22-year-old has suffered a fractured left hand during the Sacramento Kings' 122-116 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.

This report comes via ClutchPoints on Twitter:

Mark Medina of USA Today also reported that the Kings should provide an update on Bagley's status moving forward soon:

This is an unfortunate development for Bagley who had been making an impact for his team over the past few weeks. On Sunday, he scored 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting before being forced to exit after just 15 minutes of action. There was some hope that the hand injury was minor, but at this point, it has become sort of a worst-case scenario for both Bagley and the Kings. The second overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft has remained healthy for the most part of the season, having missed just two games thus far.

Bagley has been rumored to have gained interest from opposing teams leading up to the trade deadline. He hasn't had the best of relationships with the Kings, and other teams have reportedly been monitoring the situation. This recent injury obviously has a significant impact on Bagley's value, so it remains to be seen if other teams will continue to pursue their interest in the big man.

For what it's worth, Bagley is still under contract with Sacramento until 2022. He is set to pocket $11.3 million next term, but whether or not his future beyond next season remains to be in Sacramento is unclear at this point.
