The Sacramento Kings will be without power forward Marvin Bagley III on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.

The Kings say Bagley is dealing with left foot soreness again:

The Kings are 15-28 on the season. They are in 13th place in the Western Conference standings.

Bagley has played in just 13 games this season. He suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right thumb on opening night against the Phoenix Suns and missed a bunch of games. Bagley is averaging 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds. He's shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 18.2 percent from beyond the arc and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Sacramento has not made the playoffs since 2006. This was supposed to be the season where they snapped their long playoff drought. There’s still plenty of games left in the season for the Kings to turn things around, but the team has to get healthy first.

The second overall pick in the 2018 draft, Bagley averaged 14.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game during his rookie season for the Kings while shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from the 3-point line and 69.1 percent from the charity stripe.

With the way Luka Doncic has played with the Dallas Mavericks, there’s some pressure on Marvin Bagley III to play at a high-level since the Kings passed on Luka to select him.
