Sacramento Kings second-year forward Marvin Bagley III appears to be extremely close to his return to action following a lengthy spell on the sidelines. According to Kings insider Jason Anderson, there is a slim chance that the 20-year-old is able to suit up for Sacramento's Sunday night matchup against the Dallas Mavericks.
Kings forward Marvin Bagley III (thumb) has been upgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the Mavericks after being listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Spurs. Bagley has missed 20 games since breaking his thumb in the season opener.

Bagley has made just one appearance for this Kings this season, logging 14 points (on 6-of-16 shooting), 10 rebounds, a steal, and a block in his team's opening night matchup against the Phoenix Suns. The former second overall pick has been making steady progress in his road to recovery, and based on the above report, it does appear that we should see him take the floor sooner rather than later.
The Kings could surely use the services of their prized power forward, especially considering how they've struggled throughout the new campaign thus far. Sacramento is currently on a three-game losing streak, and is now in possession of an 8-13 record in a ruthless Western Conference.
It is worth noting, however, that even if Marvin Bagley does make his return to the court on Sunday, it would not be surprising if the Kings slowly bring him up to speed. He could be on some sort of minutes limit as he tries to get his conditioning back.
Sacramento will be on a back-to-back set starting on Sunday, so if Bagley ends up sitting out against the Mavs, his next chance to play would be Monday night against the Houston Rockets.
