As a player, Mike Bibby was always the small point guard who was never much of a physical presence. But since retiring from the NBA, Bibby has bulked up tremendously.

Ashley Nevel caught up with Bibby on Instagram to get his thoughts on the best NBA team to never win a championship. Bibby, of course, said:

“Us, of course!”

That was an obvious answer and a reference to the Sacramento Kings of the early 2000s. The Kings famously lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in seven games in the 2002 Western Conference Finals. Game 6 of that series is still heavily scrutinized for the poor officiating that took place.

But Nevel also asked Bibby what he's been doing to get in such great shape. Bibby told her:

“Stay in the gym, you know. A lot of people think it's other stuff, but I've been in the gym four or five hours a day. You know you gotta work hard if you wanna see results and you know I work hard.”

There are obviously questions surrounding Bibby's dramatic change and whether or not it's all natural. But the former King puts those rumors to rest. He touts his work ethic as the driving force behind his physical transformation.

Bibby now plays in BIG3 as a captain for the Ghost Ballers. BIG3 is not near as competitive as the NBA, but Bibby is still playing well in BIG3 nonetheless. Perhaps his new physique is one of the main reasons why he's still playing well as he enters his 40s.
