The Sacramento Kings are one of the up-and-coming teams in the NBA, and forward Nemanja Bjelica has no doubt about it.

In an interview with TalkBasket, the 31-year-old forward opened up about his time in Sacramento, his role with the team and the treatment he has received from his teammates. Most importantly though, he pointed out that with the Kings' young core, the team is poised to become title contenders sooner rather than later.

“I’ve been there [NBA] for the last four years,” Bjelica said. “I have found my role, I feel great at Sacramento. Our guys treat me well, we have a young team and one day we will fight for the championship.”

Bjelica moved to Sacramento in 2018-19 after spending the first three years of his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In his first season with the Kings, Bjelica put up 9.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists — all career highs. He also shot particularly well, registering a 47.9 percent clip from the field, including 40.1 percent from 3-point territory.

In addition to Bjelica, Sacramento currently houses a litany of talented players such as De'Aaron Fox, Marvin Bagley III, Harry Giles, Harrison Barnes and Buddy Hield among others. However, the Western Conference won't be easy to conquer in 2019-20 and the Kings will need to grow up quickly in order to truly contend.
