Although Sacramento Kings rookie point guard De'Aaron Fox suffered an ankle sprain during Monday night's 104-98 victory over the Chicago Bulls, he is not expected to miss any time. According to a tweet from producer Sean Cunningham of ABC10, Fox should be able to play on Friday to close out a four-game homestand against the Portland Trail Blazers

Fox said in an interview with ABC10 that he's good to go for Friday after he had to limp off the court during the third quarter against the Bulls when he went up for a dunk.

“I feel alright. Kind of like rolled it the other way, so it's not that bad. But I'll be okay,” Fox said. “I tweaked it when I jumped off of it. That's why I wasn't really able to elevate.”

The Kings, who actually trailed the Bulls by a 28-9 margin at the end of the first quarter on Monday night, were able to rally behind head coach Dave Joerger to get the win.

“I did a fair bit of screaming Saturday night trying to get us to play and I couldn't,” Joerger told reporters, referring to a 106-99 loss to Dallas. “If you start doing on that on a nightly basis and they'll not hear you. So I was trying to be very positive.”

Fox, who was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Kings out of the University of Kentucky, is currently averaging 11.0 points, 4.2 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game in roughly 26.8 minutes of action per contest.
