The Sacramento Kings extended a qualifying offer to Willie Cauley-Stein to make him a restricted free agent this summer, Sam Amick of The Athletic revealed.

With the qualifying offer, Cauley-Stein can sign an offer sheet from another team in free agency. However, the Kings have the option to match the offer to keep the 25-year-old center in Sacramento.

Interestingly though, Cauley-Stein has openly admitted that he wants a change of scenery. While the Kings have no obligation to give in to his request immediately, they could trade the big man should a good offer comes up.

The former Kentucky standout has spent his entire four-year career with the Kings. Cauley-Stein started in all 81 games he was available last season, averaging 11.9 points and 8.4 rebounds on top of 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. It was the second straight season where he averaged double digits in scoring.

Aside from Cauley-Stein, the Kings also have a decision to make on Harrison Barnes, who was traded to the Kings before the deadline in February. Barnes opted out of the final year of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Kings will offer a four-year deal worth around $90 million to Barnes this summer.

The Kings are also being linked with another free-agent big man — Al Horford. According to Paul Kitagaki of the Sacramento Bee, the Kings might be one of the teams who are willing to offer a four-year deal worth $100 million to Horford, who opted out of the final year of his contract with the Boston Celtics earlier this month.
