The Sacramento Kings have rescinded their qualifying offer to big man Willie Cauley-Stein, making him an unrestricted free agent, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Cauley-Stein is coming off of a 2018-19 campaign in which he played 81 games and averaged 11.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals over 27.3 minutes per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the floor and 55.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Kentucky, was originally selected by the Kings with the sixth overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.

He appeared in 66 contests and made 39 starts during his rookie season, registering seven points, 5.3 boards and one block across 21.4 minutes a night while making 56.3 percent of his field-goal attempts and 64.8 percent of his foul shots.

Then, the following year, Cauley-Stein participated in 75 games, starting 21 of them. He went on to record 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds through 18.9 minutes per game, connecting on 53 percent of his shots and 66.9 percent of his free throws.

It wasn't until the 2017-18 campaign that Cauley-Stein finally began to establish himself as a permanent starter, as he started 58 of his 73 appearances. He posted 12.8 points, seven rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals over 28 minutes a night while shooting 50.2 percent from the field and 61.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Known for his athleticism and length at seven feet tall, Cauley-Stein is oddly not a great shot-blocker, as he owns a career average of just 0.8 blocks per game, which certainly makes him a bit less of a commodity on the free-agent market.

Still, given his size and ability to run the floor, Cauley-Stein is sure to draw plenty of interest.
