The Sacramento Kings are finishing up a trade to send guard/forward Garrett Temple to the Memphis Grizzlies in return for Ben McLemore, Deyonta Davis, and cash considerations, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Temple has been a solid wing for the last few seasons, making him a valuable asset that fits the mold of the Grizzlies' Grit N' Grind culture, which they have so desperately hoped to regain.

The Kings will get back their former draft prospect Ben McLemore, who had a relatively sour stint with the Grizzlies, struggling to adapt to yet another losing team, which lacked the leadership of Mike Conley Jr. and Marc Gasol.

McLemore improved during his first two seasons with the Kings after being drafted with the seventh overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, but his consistency wore off in the last two years of his rookie contract, as the Grizzlies took a flyer on him last offseason.

That didn't pan out, as he only averaged 7.5 points in a shade under 20 minutes per game.

Davis is considered another player that didn't fit the Grizzlies' mold and yet another draft failure from a Grizzlies front office who has struck out more times than Adam Dunn in his last season in the bigs.

The only players that have been re-signed past their rookie contracts were Gasol and Conley, showing a plethora of draft misfits throughout recent years, who somehow wind up with other teams, either traded or signing with a different team in free agency.

Temple's acquisition will be a chance to correct those issues and re-instill the Grit N' Grind culture into the locker room after the departures of Vince Carter, Tony Allen, and Zach Randolph last offseason.
