A sexual assault lawsuit filed against Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton has been dropped, according to TMZ Sports. Kelli Tennant, a former Spectrum SportsNet LA reporter, had accused Walton of forcing himself on her in a Santa Monica hotel room in 2017.

Tennant claimed she was in “shock and fear. She was afraid she was about to be raped” as Walton allegedly forced kisses on her neck, face, and breasts, despite telling him to stop. In her lawsuit, Tennant claimed Walton held her down, groped her intimate areas and rubbed his erection on her leg.

Walton vehemently denied any wrongdoing, saying it was something “platonic” between the two and that it was Tennant who initiated the meet-up, with nothing sexual occurring between them

TMZ Sports asked for comment and video proof of their encounters, but neither was provided. The NBA also looked into the matter but decided not to punish Walton, as there were no clear grounds of evidence past the claim.

It's unclear if Walton and Tennant struck a settlement, though it wouldn't be out of the realm of consideration in these types of situations.

Tennant held a press conference in April, saying she did not go to law enforcement because she feared it would jeopardize her career. Walton and Tennant knew each other even before 2017, though Tennant claimed she had to live repressing her alleged assault for the better part of two years since Walton took the helm of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2016.
