Friday evening during player introductions, Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry was trolled by a series of moon-landing videos, courtesy of the Sacramento Kings.

Earlier this week, Curry appearedĀ on the podcast Winging It,Ā featuring hostsĀ Vince CarterĀ andĀ Kent Bazemore, where the star guard admitted that he supposedly did not think human beings ever landed on the moon.Ā

Stephen Curry later came out saying that he was kidding and did not mean what he said on the podcast.

Curryā€™s ā€œjokeā€ did get him a NASA invite so the troll was worth it in the end. The Warriors point guard told ESPN that he is going to accept NASAā€™s invite to come and see the lunar lab at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

ā€œObviously I was joking when I was talking on the podcast,ā€ Curry said,Ā via Nick Friedell of ESPN. ā€œI was silently protesting how stupid it was that people actually took that quote and made it law as, ā€˜Oh my God, heā€™s a fake moon landing trutherā€¦ā€

ā€œBut in terms of the reaction that Iā€™ve gotten, I am definitely going to take [NASA] up on their offer. I am going to educate myself firsthand on everything that NASA has done and shine a light on their tremendous work over the years. And hopefully people understand that education is power, informing yourself is power.ā€

Conspiracy theories and beliefs arenā€™t uncommon among athletes, for whatever reason. It was surprising to hear Stephen Curry put this out there, knowing the kind of ridicule that would come with it, but he at least seemed self-aware enough to know that there will be criticism and he owned up to what he said.

Stephen Curry continues to prove why he is the NBA's most likable player.
