Sacramento Kings rookie Tyrese Haliburton is indeed a class act, evidenced by his empathy for fellow first-year player LaMelo Ball after the Hornets star's apparent season-ending wrist injury. According to The Athletic's Jason Jones, the 21-year-old playmaker sounded off on some social media users who were excited by Ball's tough luck and even kept tagging him online.

While Ball being sidelined certainly strengthens his bid for Rookie of The Year honors, Tyrese Haliburton made it clear that a player going down to an injury is no laughing matter, especially since he also suffered the same painful wrist issue back in college.

Apart from his talented skillset on the floor, Tyrese Haliburton's character is indeed even more admirable. It's a nice change of phase following Anthony Edwards' Minnesota Timberwolves teammate D'Angelo Russell's deleted tasteless tweet in the wake of LaMelo's injury.

If Melo is indeed done for the rest of the campaign, no doubt Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton are the two frontrunners for the ROY honors. The former Iowa State standout made a strong case on Monday in the Kings' win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Tyrese Haliburton recorded a career-high 28 points on a blistering 11-for-15 shooting from the field and 4-for-5 from long-range in 36 minutes.

Despite a stellar collegiate career, Tyrese Haliburton somehow slid all the way to No. 12 in last year's draft. He was the third point guard drafted overall, getting passed over for Ball, and surprisingly, Killian Hayes.

There were questions early on if his unorthodox shot could translate in the pros. But judging by how well Tyrese Haliburton has transitioned in the NBA so far, it looks like he is hushing his critics now and could even be ROY by the season's end. It would be a crowning moment for a Kings organization which needs to hear good news and find something to build on for the future in the Western Conference.
