Vince Carter, once dubbed as the next “Air Jordan”, thrived and dominated in his career with the Toronto Raptors. Now, Carter is 40 years old and plays for the Sacramento Kings in what might be the last stop of his career, if he doesn't retire in Toronto. In recent news, Carter proved that he can still play at a high level, even if his offensive impact isn't what it used to be. Against the Lakers, Carter recorded 3 blocks and 3 steals in a 86-99 loss. The impressive defensive effort was complemented with 7 points and 3 rebounds from the bench.

Carter's longevity has been a thing to behold, especially during his time with the Memphis Grizzlies in which he shot 37 percent of his 3-point attempts. According to Harry Lyles Jr. of SB Nation, Carter explained how he is able to increase his longevity as his career progresses.

“The same guy has been here. It’s just now I think my ability and my knowledge of the game is now taking over because I don’t dunk as much as people want me to. At the end of the day, I just know how to play the game, and it’s really helped me just do my role.”

With no signs of slowing down, Carter may be in for a long ride as the Kings' veteran as the team attempts to become a playoff contender in the future. The astonishing shooting guard sure can't rise up for one his signature dunks anymore, but he is a reliable role player than can provide offense and defense in a pinch. If Carter's amazing durability keeps up, he may just play longer than anyone expects him to.
