The 2015 NBA Draft has undoubtedly produced one of the deepest classes in recent years. With promising young stars like Karl-Anthony Towns, Devin Booker, and Kristaps Porzingis, it is so easy to see why.

However, could that list also include Sacramento Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein? He certainly seems to think so after comparing himself to the New York Knicks budding superstar, according to Howie Kussoy of the New York Post.

“I think I just gotta get more selfish,” said Cauley-Stein. “Offensively, I gotta get to the point that I’m just going at dudes like him. Guarding him, and then watching his game, you take away, oh, this is what he’s doing. I have the same body size, the same skill level, just transfer it over to a game now. But being behind in the race, he’s been doing it for a while.”

Just looking at the tale of the tape, it is clear that Willie Cauley-Stein's comparison is a bit out of reach. Kristaps Porzingis has been arguably the best player in the league so far with 30.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game.

Meanwhile, Cauley-Stein has recorded a meager 8.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest this year. Although it is encouraging to see the Kings big man set a high standard for himself, perhaps it is best to lower expectations until he starts to produce serious numbers.
