With the Sacramento Kings down by one point against the Miami Heat, De'Aaron Fox showed everyone that he is a clutch performer who can will his team to victory despite his young age.

After seeing his teammate miss on a jumper, the 20-year-old rookie soared to the basket to throw down a powerful two-handed follow-up slam to give his team the lead. Fox showcased his mad hops in the process, to the delight of the commentators covering the game.

The Kings rookie's basket proved to be the game-winner, as Josh Richardson failed to convert on a jumper on the ensuing play.

As the Kings made it known that they will rest two veterans each game, that could mean more playing time for the Kentucky product who's already taking over the minutes of George Hill — who's been rumored to be on the move. That may be just what Fox needs to gain more experience and live up to expectations, being one of the highly-touted prospects in last June's draft.

Fox was selected fifth overall by the Kings, pinning their hopes on him as an integral part of their future plans as they look to become contenders again in the coming years. Through 40 games, Fox is averaging solid numbers of 10.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.0 steals in 26.5 minutes per game.

The game-winner could mean more than just a victory for the Kings. It could lead to even better performances from Fox in their upcoming games as his confidence should be at an all-time high now. His team may most likely not make it to the playoffs, but the future is definitely bright for them with Fox in their fold.
