Newly-acquired Sacramento Kings forward Zach Randolph became part of a lot of headlines when he was arrested for possession of Marijuana with intent to sell. He was quickly taken to custody after a big commotion occurred between LAPD and a group of people present in a Los Angeles housing project.

However, his representative quickly refuted the charges, saying there’s no truth to it and that the reports that have surfaced are misleading. Randolph’s lawyer also shared that they are looking into all their options to quickly address the issue.

“The charges are false and misleading,” Randolph's agent and attorney Raymond Brothers told The Associated Press via the New York Daily News on Thursday. “We're looking at all options to resolve this matter.”

The Kings have also issued a statement following the incident, stating that they are aware of the 6-foot-9 big man’s situation, but declined to further comment on it, via The Sacramento Bee's Jason Jones.

“We are aware of the situation. We have no further comment at this time.”

Randolph signed this summer with the Kings after spending his last eight seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies. He will be relied upon by his new team to serve as a veteran locker room leader and also guide their young players in the early stages of their careers.

The Sacramento faithful are hoping that he the case will be resolved quickly, and that it will not serve as a distraction to the 16-year league veteran this coming season, especially with their new-look lineup expected to attempt to surprise many and make some noise in the Western Conference.
