The Minnesota Vikings are one of the best teams in the NFC. They are currently 8-4 and in the second Wild Card spot in the conference. It has been said that a team is only as good as their record but that is not the case for the Vikings. This is a team that can make some noise in the postseason.

Minnesota is coming off a tough loss on Monday night in Seattle. They will look to bounce back this week against a struggling Detroit Lions team. Kirk Cousins is having yet another great statistical season in Minnesota.

In 2018, Cousins did not receive credit for having the best season of his career. So far this season, he has been even better. He has completed 69.3% of his passes on his way to 3,032 yards with 23 touchdowns and just four interceptions.

Cousins has a favorable Week 14 matchup against a divisional opponent. Here are bold predictions for Cousins as his team hosts Detroit.

Cousins Bests First Performance vs. Lions

Kirk Cousins, Vikings

In October, the Vikings traveled to Detroit and put up 42 points in a win. Cousins was spectacular that day completing 24 of 34 passes for 338 yards and four touchdowns. He did not turn the ball over in that game. Now the Lions will travel to Minnesota and Cousins will have a chance to be better this time.

This could be another four-touchdown performance for Cousins this week. The Lions' defense has been struggling and the Vikings will certainly take advantage. It seems hard to be better than 338 yards and four touchdowns but it is not impossible.

Cousins can complete 75% of his passes this week with 300+ yards and four more touchdowns. The Vikings will be up for this game after a tough Monday night loss and it begins with No. 8.

Offensive Line Keeps Cousins Upright

Vikings
CP

Cousins has been sacked 22 times this season, 11 of those have come in two games. Cousins did not get sacked in Seattle and he can make it two in a row when the Lions come to town.

The offensive line in Minnesota last season was putrid. The Vikings knew in the offseason that they had to improve in that area and they did in free agency and in the first round of the draft. They are not a perfect unit just yet but they are much improved from 2018.

Down the stretch, Kirk Cousins needs to be healthy and fresh. Not getting sacked in two games will go a long way in accomplishing that goal.
