Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson posted a picture of Donald Trump with a KKK hat on in response to the events taking place in Washington DC currently, where he clowned the former president:

The situation in DC is getting progressively more hostile, as Donald Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building to protest the outcome of the presidential election as the Senate met to discuss President-elect Joe Biden's victory over Trump and the counting of the electoral votes.

President Trump has been vocal about losing this past election to Joe Biden, as recounts were demanded by him and his supporters. According to the Washington Post, an individual was shot after the protesters forced their way into the Capitol and the DC national guard has been called on to mobilize.

This is not the first time that the NBA and its players have voiced their opinions on political matters. Last season, many individuals came together to support the Black Lives Matter movement, as seen by the cancellation of games and the National Basketball Players Association dedicating their platform to speak out against police brutality, as reported by Marc Spears of The Undefeated. There were even talks about canceling the 2019-2020 postseason in Orlando as a result of these horrific events taking place.

NBA organization and players have played an active role in speaking out about demanding justice for all individuals and remembering those who lost their lives to police brutality. Without a question, more NBA players will speak, post, or tweet about the events occurring in DC very soon as Donald Trump leaves office.
