The Latvian National Team continues to make a lot of noise at the ongoing EuroBasket tournament with another strong game during their win against Russia on Tuesday, 84-69. Their most popular player, New York Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis, contributed 11 points and five rebounds, and made his presence felt throughout the game with his hustle and defense.

The players on the court may have won the match for Latvia, but Porzingis still gave credit to their countrymen, who cheered them on and gave them the energy they needed to beat the Russians and force a triple-tie for the top spot in Group D with a 3-1 win-loss record. However, with a superior quotient, they are currently the number one seed.

He then took to his Twitter account to post a video where he thanked their supporters for egging them on to the win.

Porzingis and company are now through to the round of 16, and will be a very difficult team to beat, especially with their fans who are always on hand. Their presence makes their players feel that they have homecourt advantage, which could be the difference between winning and losing, especially in close games.

With the competition headed to its late stages, teams will welcome every form of help they can get, as they look to finish strong and even win a medal in the highly-competitive event.
